Elderly Hanoi man builds memorial house in tribute to Uncle Ho

Like millions of other Vietnamese, Hanoi farmer Tran Van Cao has sincere affection for the late President Ho Chi Minh and over the last three decades has collected hundreds of photos, poems, and articles about the Vietnamese hero.

Tran Van Cao’s commemorative house features more than 300 photos of Ho Chi Minh’s journey to liberate the country and develop socialism.

The photos have been arranged under different topics to create a complete story. Whenever visitors arrive at his house the elderly farmer becomes a storyteller, passionately recalling important milestones and the stories of the photos on display.

Besides collecting photos, Tran Van Cao also writes poems and songs honouring the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and the Vietnamese revolution.

Since opening in January, the commemorative house has welcomed thousands of visitors, both domestic and foreign. The house and its contents represent Tran Van Cao’s lifelong dedication to President Ho Chi Minh./.
