Hanoi (VNA) - The 12th-tenure
Party Central Committee kicked off its 12th session in Hanoi on the
morning of May 11.
Politburo member and Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan
Phuc chaired the first working day of the session on behalf of the Politburo.
During the plenary sitting in the morning,
Politburo member and Permanent Member of the Party Central Committee’s
Secretariat Tran Quoc Vuong delivered a report for members of the Party Central
Committee to give opinions on the 12th session’s agenda.
Party General Secretary and State President
Nguyen Phu Trong presented the opening address at the session.
Pham Minh Chinh, Politburo member, Secretary of
the Party Central Committee, and Chairman of the Party Central Committee’s
Organisation Commission, then delivered a Politburo report reviewing personnel tasks
for the 12th-tenure Party Central Committee and proposed
orientations for personnel tasks for the 13th-tenure Party Central
Committee.
He also read another report from the Politburo summarising
the allocation of delegates to the 10th, 11th, and 12th national Party congresses and the devising of standards, structure, and number
of delegates, and the planned allocation of delegates to the 13th National Party Congress.
Meanwhile, Politburo member and National
Assembly (NA) Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan delivered a report from the legislature’s
Party delegation on planned orientations for the election of deputies to the 15th-tenure
NA and all-level People’s Councils for the 2021-2026 term.
In the afternoon, officials held group
discussions on documents relevant to personnel tasks of the Party Central
Committee and the allocation of delegates to national Party congresses.
This 12th session is scheduled to
last until May 14./.
