Hanoi (VNA) - The National Election Council (NEC)’s Personnel Sub-Committee convened its third meeting in Hanoi on June 4, chaired by National Assembly Standing Vice Chairman Tran Thanh Man.

Man, who is also Standing Vice Chairman of the NEC, said the elections of deputies to the 15th NA and all-level People’s Councils in the 2021-2026 tenure took place in a democratic manner and in line with the leadership and direction of the Politburo and Party Central Committee’s Secretariat.

It can be said that the elections were a success, with the involvement of more than 69 million voters nationwide.

The Personnel Sub-Committee showed strong performance in implementing its tasks by providing direction, supervising, updating, and settling issues, providing advice on the handling of relevant matters, and cooperating closely with the NA Legal Committee and Ministry of Public Security in the work.

Despite the complex developments of the COVID-19 pandemic and changes in personnel in charge of the election work in localities and some emerging problems in the work, Man noted, the Personnel Sub-Committee gave timely guidance to localities to settle issues, especially in pandemic-hit localities.

He asked the sub-committee to continue summarising election results and monitoring localities that will conduct re-elections, while promptly dealing with arising matters.

Along with an accurate summary of election results, the sub-committee should make careful preparations for the announcement of elected deputies in line with the timetable set by the NEC, he asked./.
