Hanoi (VNA) – Socialism, based on President Ho
Chi Minh’s ideology, has opened a right path for Vietnam and the country now
has the opportunity for national development and improvement of living
standards of each people and family, Chairman of the Council of Experts of the
Eurasian Research Fund Grigory Trofimchuk told Vietnam News Agency's
correspondents in Russia.
The “Doi Moi” (renewal) process over 35 years has proved
effective, and a socialist-oriented economy has helped Vietnam create a
“brighter” socio-economic picture like today, the Russian scholar said.
He made the statement following the recent release of
General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee
Nguyen Phu Trong’s writing on a number of theoretical and practical issues on
socialism and the path towards socialism in Vietnam.
Regarding external affairs, Trofimchuck said Vietnam’s
prestige and position in the international arena have been heightened over
years. Vietnam has remained as one of the leading ASEAN member states and an
active country in the Asia-Pacific region, he noted adding that thanks to the
country’s dynamism, Russians have got to know more about ASEAN.

Vietnam serving as a non-permanent member of the UN
Security Council has grabbed international attention, he said, adding the
country has also actively advocated for food security, one of the world’s
pressing issues today.
He emphasised that many countries need to learn from
Vietnam’s good practices in developing a socialist-oriented economy, especially
in the face of global economic uncertainty.
According to Dr. Evgeny Vlasov, Deputy Vice-President for
International Relations, Far Eastern Federal University of Russia, Ho Chi
Minh’s philosophy and ideology remain relevant in today’s world and his
predecessors have applied them wisely in State governance to respond to the
current context.
He regarded Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong as
the symbol of a new stage of development in Vietnam, the third stage of “Doi
Moi”. He had a high hope of Vietnam successfully fulfilling goals of the
Resolution of the 13th Party Congress and becoming a developed and high-income
country./.
