Dak Lak (VNA) – The central province of Dak Lak has set ambitious targets for the next five years, including an average annual GRDP growth rate exceeding 10.5%, according to the resolution of the first provincial Party Congress that concluded on October 1.
By 2030, Dak Lak aims to raise GRDP per capita to at least 153 million VND (5,800 USD), attracting social investment of 600 trillion VND, or approximately 35% of GRDP. The province targets to boost export value to over 13 billion USD during this period, growing by 5 to 6% annually.
Further goals include increasing State budget revenues by at least 11% per year (excluding land use fees), expanding retail and service revenues by around 10% annually to 1.2 quadrillion VND, and attracting 43 million tourists with an annual growth rate of 11%, generating nearly 100 trillion VND in tourism revenue.
The resolution also sets clear social goals, aiming to reduce the number of poverty households by at least 2% annually, with a 3% reduction rate among ethnic minorities, and to eliminate multidimensional poverty by 2030.
Dak Lak aims for significant improvements in education and employment. The targets include having 70% of schools meet national standards, providing training for over 75% of the workforce, with approximately 30% of workers obtaining degrees or professional certificates. Additionally, it plans to generate more than 56,000 new jobs each year, including sending between 2,000 and 2,500 workers abroad annually. By 2030, urban unemployment is projected to fall to 2%.
Healthcare and environmental goals include reducing child stunting under five years to 12.1%, ensuring 33 hospital beds and over 10 doctors per 10,000 people, and achieving 96.5% health insurance coverage.
The province will prioritise forestry protection to maintain forest coverage at 42% or above, ensure 98% of urban and rural populations have access to clean and hygienic water, and guarantee that all operating industrial clusters meet environmental standards for wastewater treatment. Urban solid waste collection and treatment are targeted at 98%.
Regarding Party development, the province plans an annual increase of 3 to 4% in Party membership.
In his closing remarks, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Trung urged all officials, Party members, and citizens to foster unity, act with creativity, seize opportunities, and overcome challenges. He called for a vigorous patriotic emulation movement and a steadfast commitment to realising the goals set out in the congress resolution for the 2025–2030 period./.
