Hanoi (VNA) – The 18th Congress of the Hanoi Party Organisation for the 2025-2030 term, set for October 15-17, will chart a path to build Hanoi into a “cultured – civilised – modern” capital city, aiming to lead the nation into a new era of prosperity.
Under the motto “Solidarity – Democracy – Discipline – Breakthrough – Development”, the event will gather 550 delegates representing nearly 500,000 Party members across the capital, heard a press briefing hosted by the municipal Party Committee on October 8.
Nguyen Van Phong, Permanent Vice Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, said the event will take place amid uniquely favourable conditions, with political stability, legal frameworks, urban planning, and global trends aligning to propel Hanoi’s growth. The city now has a clearer understanding of its development resources, including intellectual and human capital.
The Congress documents were drafted with a renewed approach, designed not only to guide the political system, officials, and Party members, but also to engage the public and businesses. The goal is to clarify how residents and companies can engage in and reap rewards from Hanoi’s five-year development roadmap, he added.
Ha Minh Hai, head of the Hanoi Party Committee’s Organisation Board, said a draft action plan to realise Congress resolutions is already in place. It will be finalised and rolled out immediately after the event, ensuring that the Resolution is quickly put into practice.
The Congress will kick off with a preparatory session on October 15, formally open on October 16, and conclude on October 17./.
