
Ca Mau (VNA) - Secretary of the Ca Mau provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 tenure Nguyen Ho Hai was assigned by the Politburo to continue assuming this post for the new term, according to a decision announced at the first provincial Party Congress for the 2025-2030 tenure.
The congress, which opened on October 17 morning, sees the participation of 450 delegates representing over 82,000 Party members across the province.
On behalf of the Politburo, Tran Luu Quang, Secretary of the Party Central Committee and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, said that after its mergence with Bac Lieu province, Ca Mau holds significant advantages to make a breakthrough and emerge as a new growth pole in the southern region.

In the new term, Quang advised the provincial Party Organisation, administration, and people to focus on addressing existing limitations, especially in transport connectivity and digital transformation, in order to develop appropriate solutions and make the most of the province’s potential and strengths to accelerate development.
He suggested the province promote unity, strengthen cooperation with other localities both domestically and internationally, and pay greater attention to improving social welfare and healthcare programmes for the people.
For the 2025-2030 term, Ca Mau province aims to achieve an average GRDP growth rate of at least 10%, with per capita GRDP exceeding 6,000 USD by 2030. It targets export turnover of around 17 billion USD, and about 20,000 enterprises, and over 4,200 social housing units developed within five years. It also plans for 80% of the workforce to be trained; to reduce poverty rate by 1.0–1.5% annually; and to have 34.5 hospital beds and 14 doctors per 10,000 people, and 90% of schools meeting national standards./.
