-1929: Joining students’ league under the leadership of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association
-May 1, 1930: Arrested, sentenced to life imprisonment and exiled to Con Dao by France. He was released in 1936
-1936: Admitted to the Communist Party of Indochina, working in Hai Phong and Hanoi
-1939: Joining the Party Committee of Saigon city, later was sent to the central region with the mission of restoring Party organisation there
-1941: Arrested in Vinh, sentenced to five years of imprisonment and exiled to Con Dao
-1945: Working in the western region and Saigon-Cho Lon as Secretary of the municipal Party Committee and Secretary of the Party Committee of the Saigon-Cho Lon Special Zone
