The on-going13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV), which opened in Hanoi on January 25, is a focus of attention of the media in Southeast Asia over the last few days.
Since it was set up in 1930, the Communist Party of Vietnam convened 12 national congresses, which marked important historical milestones of the country, summarising achievements as well as lessons of Vietnamese revolution and sketching out the future development orientations for the nation.
The Party Central Committee spent the second working day of the 13th session (October 6) to discuss several important draft documents.
Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong, who is also Chairman of the Subcommittee on Party documents of the 13th National Party Congress, has written an article emphasizing the need to well prepare and organise the 13th National Party Congress in order to bring the country to a new development period.
Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, on October 1, chaired a meeting of the 13th National Party Congress’s sub-committee on socio-economic affairs.
