Visiting Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh held talks with his host Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh in Hanoi on January 8 after the former’s arrival to a red-carpet welcome ceremony earlier the same day.
The official visit to Vietnam by Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh from January 8-10 will be the opening of the Vietnam-Laos, Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year, aiming to further foster the special ties between the two countries amid the complicated regional and world situation.
The upcoming Vietnam visit by Lao Prime Minister Phankham Viphavanh, the first by the Lao leader in his position, will help reinforce the bilateral ties and create a motivation for their comprehensive partnership in 2022, Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung has said.
