There have been no political organisations in Vietnam except the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) that has adequate mettle, wisdom, experience, prestige and capability to lead the country to overcome all difficulties and challenges, and drive the national revolutionary cause from victory to other victory.
Diplomatic relations between Vietnam and former Czechoslovakia, now the Czech Republic, were established on February 2, 1950. Since then, bilateral friendship and cooperation have been strengthened.
On January 30, 1950, the Soviet Union became one of the first countries to establish diplomatic ties with the Democratic Republic of Vietnam.
