Son La (VNA) – Officials, Party members and residents in the northern mountainous province of Son La have voiced strong support for the draft documents to be submitted to the upcoming 14th National Party Congress, describing them as carefully prepared, theoretically sound, and highly practical, reflecting the Party’s strategic vision for the new period.
Lo Van Chung, Secretary of the Party cell of Cong hamlet, Chieng So commune, praised the drafts for their scientific preparation and strategic outlook, especially the focus on green growth, digital transformation, innovation, and Party building.
From his grassroots experience, he proposed stronger policies for ethnic minority areas, including livelihood support, rural infrastructure, education, health care, and training of young, capable cadres. He also called for stricter anti-corruption efforts to strengthen public trust.
Nguyen Ngoc Tan, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Co Ma commune Party Committee, said the drafts embody the spirit of renewal and the nation’s aspiration for development. He viewed ethnic minority development as both a social welfare and strategic security issue, stressing bridging regional gaps as a key breakthrough for 2026-2030.
Co Ma, he noted, still faces hardship and high poverty rates. Sustainable poverty reduction requires opportunities for production, start-ups, access to capital, technology, and markets. He suggested vocational training, cooperative development, better infrastructure, and expanded 4G-5G coverage. Flexible mechanisms in national target programmes would allow greater local initiative.
Tan also agreed with making digital transformation a key development driver but urged tailored policies for mountainous regions such as investment in digital infrastructure, training for officials and youth, and models like “farmers selling products online” and “digital community-based tourism.” Digital transformation, he said, must enable people in remote areas to truly benefit from technology.
He said that Party members in Co Ma support the overall goal of inclusive and sustainable growth for 2026-2030. To achieve it, Tan recommended clearer mechanisms for resources allocation, prioritising infrastructure and public services in difficult areas, and assessing progress based on education, health care, culture, and living standards, realising the policy of “leaving no one behind” by practical solutions.
Nguyen Anh Binh, Secretary of the Chieng Mung commune Party Committee, commended the drafts for their thorough, comprehensive preparation and innovative approach, combining Marxism–Leninism and Ho Chi Minh Thought with modern strategic thinking. He said they capture the will and trust of the people while setting clear goals and solutions for the next period.
Binh valued the emphasis on Party building and streamlining the political system for greater efficiency, but suggested highlighting weaknesses in health care and education and reinforcing leaders’ accountability in tackling “institutional bottlenecks” and “vested interests.”
He proposed focusing resources on key priorities - green, digital, circular, and creative economies - along with institutional reform and building a transparent, efficient state. He also recommended analysing the causes of degradation in political ideology among some cadres and developing theory on digital governance.
Regarding amendments to the Party Statutes, Binh called for more practical, engaging political education and greater autonomy and accountability for grassroots Party organisations, alongside stronger internal feedback mechanisms./.
