The 13th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) is to officially open in Hanoi in the morning of January 26, with the participation of 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 million Party members nationwide.
Thirty-five years after the launch of the renewal, Vietnam has, under the leadership of the Party, reaped comprehensive, great and important achievements.
Preparations for the 13th National Party Congress at the National Convention Centre have been completed.
Up to 1,587 delegates representing more than 5.1 million Party members nationwide will attend the 13th National Party Congress from January 25 to February 2, up nearly 80 delegates against the 12th Congress and the largest number among the 13 congresses.
Banners, flowers and flags can be seen everywhere, especially on main streets in Hanoi, to welcome the upcoming 13th National Party Congress. The whole city looks fresh and vibrant as if it has just worn a new coat.
The 13th National Party Congress will review the 2011-2020 implementation of the Political Platform (supplemented in 2011) and the socio-economic development strategy for 2011-2020, said Associate Professor Nguyen Viet Thong, Secretary General of the Central Theoretical Council.

On October 22, 2018, Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong signed a resolution on the strategy for the sustainable development of Vietnam’s marine economy to 2030 and vision to 2045, known as Resolution No 36.
